1) For Geologist Group ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India
Master’s degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo- Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Geochemistry
2) For Geophysicist Group ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India and Scientist ‘B’ (Geophysics) Group ‘A’ in C.G.W.B.
M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics)
3) For Chemist Group ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India and Scientist ‘B’ (Chemical) under C.G.W.B.
MSc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
4) For Scientist ‘B’ (Hydrogeology) Group ‘A’ in C.G.W.B.
Master’s degree in Geology or applied Geology or Marine Geology or Hydrogeology
Age Limit:
21 to 32 years as on 1st January 2022. Age relaxation will be as per Govt. norms.

Plan of Examination:
The Combined Geo-Scientist Exam has three stages:
Stage-I: Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination
Stage-II: Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination
Stage-III: Personality Test/ Interview
The Preliminary Exam will consist of two objective type (multiple choices) questions papers.
Only the candidates, who pass the Preliminary Exam, can appear for the Main Exam.
The Main Examination will consist three conventional type papers (Descriptive Type).
The Stage‐III will consist of Personality Test/ Interview.
Marks obtained by the candidates in the Preliminary Exam, Main Exam and Personality Test would determine their final ranking.
Candidates will be allotted to the various services keeping in view their ranks.
Application Fee:
The application fee is Rs. 200/-.
Female/ SC/ ST/ PwBD are exempted from payment of fee.
