Salary:

1^st Year (Trainee): Rs. 11,500

2^nd Year: Rs. 12,650

3^rd Year: Rs. 13,915

4^th Year: Rs. 15,310

Qualification:

HSC pass from recognized Board or equivalent and ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade from NCVT with minimum 60% marks for General  & SEBC candidates and 50% for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates.

Workmen Permit:

1. Workman Permit from ELBO is mandatory for the workman to work in OPTCL.
2. The candidate applying for the post should possess Lineman-MV Permit (with learner permit for workman-HT).

Age Limit:

Candidate must not be under 18 (eighteen ) years of age and must not be above 32 (thirty two) years as on 01.09.2021 i.e. she / he must not have been born later than 1.09.2003, and not earlier than 01.09.1989.

Age Relaxation:

SC, ST and SEBC candidates – 5 years

Woman candidates – 5 years

PwD candidates – 10 years

Every Ex-serviceman who has put in not less than six month continuous service in Army/ Navy/ Air Forces of the Union shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit shall be deemed to satisfy the conditions regarding age limits.

Period of Engagement:

The selected candidates shall be appointed initially as a Junior Maintenance and Operator Trainee (JMOT) for a period of one year. On successful completion of Training period they shall be appointed as Junior Technician on Contractual basis for a period of Five (5) years and may be considered for appointment to the post of Junior Technician (Level: NE-3) on regular establishment in the Pay Matrix:- Rs. 22,700/- to Rs.72,000/- with Initial Basic Pay of Rs.22,700/-.

Selection Process:

1. The selection process involves Computer Based Test (CBT) and Skill Test and Career Marking.
2. Eligible candidates will be called for Computer Based Test, comprising 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), out of which Subject Knowledge (80%), Numerical / GK & Reasoning (10%) & English Knowledge (10%). The CBT will be of 3 hours duration.
3. There shall be no negative marking.
4. Candidates who qualify in CBT and shortlisted, shall be called for Skill Test in 1:3 ratio in each category.
5. Since the job involves climbing of Towers / Structures and other Electrical Operation & Maintenance related activities; Skill Test shall be conducted on the above activities.
6. The Skill test will only be of qualifying nature.
7. The candidates, who have qualified in the Skill Test shall be called for document verification for Career Marking.
8. The merit list of the qualified candidates will be drawn purely on the basis of Performance in the CBT and Career Marking. The CBT and career marking shall carry weightage of 80% and 20% respectively.
