Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has invited online applications for recruitment to 335 posts of Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) for Government Higher Secondary Schools. Interested and eligible candidates can apply @ opsc.gov.in from 08.11.2021 to 07.12.2021.

Salary: Scale of Pay – Cell-01 Level-10 of Pay Matrix of Govt. of Odisha

Qualification:

Candidate must possess:

  • Master’s Degree in the subject concerned
  • B.Ed. or equivalent degree
  • Desirable Qualification: Degree or diploma in Computer Application

B.Ed. qualification for subjects other than Botany, Chemistry, English, Economics, Geography, History, Hindi, Mathematics, Odia, Physics, Political Science, Sanskrit and Zoology will not be mandatory eligibility criteria.     

Age Limit: (As on 01.01.2021)

Candidate must not be above 32 years of age and under 21 years of age.

Upper Age Relaxation:

SC/ ST/ SEBC/ Women/ Ex-Servicemen – 5 years

Persons with Disabilities – 10 years

Persons with Disabilities belonging to SC/ ST/ SEBC  categories – 15 years

Mode of Selection:

The selection of candidates for recruitment will be made on the basis of Career Assessment and Personality Test/Interview.

The Career Assessment will be of 70 marks and Personality Test/Interview will have 30 marks.

The distribution of weightage in Career Assessment: (70 marks)

Matriculation: 10%

Higher Secondary: 10%

Bachelor Degree: 20%

Post Graduation: 30%

B.Ed.: 30%

In case of Non-B.Ed. posts such as PGT Commerce, Anthropology and Sociology etc. the weightage for Post Graduation will be 60%.

Job nature: The Post Graduate Teacher posts are temporary but likely to be made permanent.
