Salary:

Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant – Level-4 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 25500-81100)

Postman – Level-3 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 21700-69100)

Qualification:

Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant / Postman:

The candidates must have passed 12^th Standard or equivalent examination.

The candidates will be required to furnish certificate of Basic Computer Training of at least 60 days duration from a recognized Computer training institute before issuance of appointment letter.

Computer Training Certificates from Central Government/ State Government/ University/ Boards etc. are also accepted.

If a candidate has studied computer as a subject in matriculation or class-XII or higher educational qualification, separate certificate is not required.

For Postman’s position, knowledge of local language i.e. Bengali in respect of West Bengal State (Bengali or Nepali in respect of Darjeeling and Jalpaikuri division), Nepali in respect of Sikkim State and English/ Hindi in respect of A & N Islands is required. The candidate should have studied local language at least up to 10th standard.

The candidate selected for the post of Postman should have a valid driving license to drive a two wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle.

Age Limit: As on 24.12.2021

For the posts of Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant/ Postman:

18-27 years

Upper Age Limit relaxation will be 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, up to 40 years for Government Servant.

Mode of Selection:

Selection will be based on sports achievements and the minimum required educational qualifications.
